SHARE Architecture Awards winners and finalists continued their journey in Bucharest and Belgrade

The winners and finalists projects for the SHARE Architecture Awards 2024—75 in total from 16 Central and Southeastern European countries—were showcased in a dedicated exhibition at the Radisson Blu Hotel on 7 November at SHARE Romania 2024.

Designed by architect Damir Iuliana Georgiana, this exhibition began its journey in Athens and will travel across various major European cities throughout the year. After its launch in Athens, the first stop occurred on October 24 in Iași, Romania.

Meanwhile, The Overall Winner project, InnoRenew CoE, was presented to the audience at SHARE Serbia 2024, which took place on November 26 at the Radisson Collection Hotel, Old Mill Belgrade. Slovenian architect Eva Prelovšek Niemelä, co-founder of Innorenew CoE, told the story of the project.

Before the opening ceremony of the exposition in Bucharest, four architecture firms from Romania were invited to showcased on the forum scene their award-winning projects at SHARE Architecture Awards 2024.
The four winning projects that were presented in detail included: the Alpine Shelter Staircase project by Empatic Studio, which won in the Sport & Wellness category; the Rossetti Aparthotel project in Bucharest by Enterprise Architecture & Design, which won in the Hotels – Restaurants & Bars category; the Marie Curie Children’s Hospital project by Tesseract Architecture, which won in the Healthcare category; and the Urban Spaces 5 / Sfinții Voievozi 20-24 Apartment Building project in Bucharest by ADN Birou de Arhitectură, which won in the Multi-Unit Residential category.
The Overall Winner project presented at SHARE Serbia 2024 is the InnoRenew CoE Institute building, the largest wooden building in Slovenia today. The design of the building had a complex task beyond that of a functional building: to demonstrate how the physical transformation of a place defined as post-industrial could bring new spirit and sociotechnical development by creating an engaging scientific hub.
Their project also won the Winner for the “WORKPLACE – OFFICES/INSTITUTIONAL” Category.

InnoRenew CoE is an independent research institute established in 2017. Research targets renewable materials and sustainable buildings, specifically innovative approaches to wood and its use, to transfer scientific knowledge into industrial practice.
