Project overview

Situated in northern Negotino, the building occupies a prominent corner site along the main city entrance, reinforcing its role as a civic landmark. Positioned on a steep slope, the structure is surrounded by forest, recreational areas, public facilities, and scattered housing. The design emerges from the synergy between site topography, context, and program, generating a convex polygonal volume across three structural levels.

Project history

The result is object with convex polygonal base that develops in three constructive levels and dominant spacious model – volume that takes three levels on the north side, emphasizing the main entrance with big staircase creating unique object character occupying only one constructive level without imposing on the context. The spatial model gets a tripartite shape and material division horizontally starting with a massive stone base dug into the field massive connected to the surroundings through small concave openings, continuing with a semi-massive body with large protruding openings introducing a rich contextual landscape with a semi-transparent glass. The highest part of the object has the role of expressing light effects that are part of the action within the large hall, creating the character of a modern lighthouse and a landmark of the city. The generated spatial model contains different types of rooms with unique spatial qualities that over time may undergo function conversion.
