Project overview

The architectural design seamlessly integrates the residence with the natural environment of the Cojusna region, specifically within the Byk River Valley, leveraging the area's distinctive terrain. The design concept centers on "interpenetration," aiming to unify the landscape architecture and the building's architecture into a cohesive whole. The structure comprises two volumes, each providing unique panoramic views of the lake and park while maintaining the house's overall unity.

Project history

The Ghidighici Reservoir, also known as the Chisinau Sea, constructed in the Byk River valley in the early 1960s, its primary purpose was to regulate the river’s water level and mitigate flooding risks in Chisinau. Following the reservoir’s completion, the development of a recreational area commenced. This area encompassed approx.1,000 acres, with 124 acres dedicated to green spaces. The infrastructure fell into disrepair after the 90s. Currently, the land surrounding the lake has been acquired by private entities, leading to active development of low-rise residential properties. Our bureu was invited to develop a concept for a residential project involving the construction of 14 buildings. This project transcends mere spatial arrangement; it prioritizes the successful execution is anticipated to attract public and private investment to the Byk River area to revitalize the region and mitigate the adverse effects of climate change on the urban infrastructure of the Chisinau municipality
