Project overview

The project design is rooted in national motifs and symbolism. The tandoor’s architectural concept draws inspiration from the traditional Armenian Hazarashen—a traditional house featuring a distinct roof structure—and the form of the ancient Armenian salt cellar. The design of the souvenir market is inspired by dance, with columns positioned in dynamic orientations to evoke dancers in motion, symbolizing the unity of the Armenian people. The total construction cost is approximately $1,500,000

Project history

In 2024, after discussions with several studios, the client chose our team. The project was to blend national motifs and spirit with modern materials and solutions. The client also gave full creative freedom, including on the budget—something that truly gives an architect wings. Most importantly, the client did not interfere during the design process, which I believe is essential for any architect. Some elements, like curved concrete and complex 3D forms, proved challenging to implement. Still, the client approved them, drawn to the project’s overall concept. The project is now under construction, and people often stop to look at it with interest before continuing on their way.
