Project overview

Located in Akhaldaba, Georgia, this two-story private residence with a pool is designed to blend with the natural landscape. The project responds to challenging terrain through three interlinked programmatic blocks that follow the site’s curves, minimizing intervention. The layout ensures functional clarity and landscape integration. With a rough concrete façade, green aluminum details, and climbing plants, the house merges architecture, function, and environment seamlessly.

Project history

The project began in 2021 when the client approached us with the vision of building a modern yet nature-integrated residence in the mountainous village of Akhaldaba, Georgia. From the start, the client emphasized the importance of privacy, functionality, and a strong connection to the landscape. Through site analysis and collaborative dialogue, the concept evolved into a three-block structure that responded directly to the terrain and views. The design process focused on minimizing earthwork and ensuring every space had a purpose and visual connection to nature. Construction began in 2022, with careful attention to material choices, and seamless indoor-outdoor flow. The use of rough concrete and green aluminum details reflects the architect’s desire for raw aesthetics with natural harmony. The completed home has had a profound personal impact, offering both retreat and inspiration, while also serving as a subtle architectural statement in the area with private houses around.
