In NEO PLAZA, the philosophy of human scale is applied by breaking down the building units into smaller volumes, which are connected by the uncovered central pathway and the central square. The conscious decision for the open-air logic stems from the desire to take advantage of the Cypriot climate, in contrast to the creation of sterile closed spaces that prevail in common shopping centers. At the same time, the materials used for this project are wood, stone and glass, while the slants and complexity of the roofs directly refer to images of a Cypriot village, as well as the paved floors in the square and in the central pathway. The inclusion of the project is harmoniously adapted to the slants of the existing terrain, respecting the topography and character of the area.
