Located on the shores of Lake Laguna Albastra, near Bucharest, the house embodies a rationalist vision with its rhythmic facade and geometric layout, in contrast with the natural form of the surrounding environment. The glued laminated timber pillars form a colonnade around the perimeter, playing a structural role and being the only vertical resistance elements. Covering two levels above ground and a partially basement floor, the interior design defies convention, with living areas on the first floor and bedrooms below. A terrace extends the kitchen-dining connection down to the lake. Exposed ceilings highlight structural integrity, and transparent windows enhance the aesthetic. Large glass openings on the lake-facing side emphasize the visual connection to nature. The barbecue area follows the overall concept. The client’s trust in the architect’s expertise, resulting in a seamlessly integrated building that harmonizes with its surroundings, providing both cleanliness and order.
