The owner grew up in a small Athens apartment but spent summers in Cyprus at his grandparents’ traditional stone home, inspiring his vision for a contemporary family home. The house is built among olive trees, the architect aiming to preserve as many as possible. On the ground floor are three bedrooms, two bathrooms, and an open kitchen/living room. An isolated room on the first floor serves as a yoga sanctuary with horizon views. The shape creates an internal courtyard linking the two main volumes – one housing the bedrooms, the other the common areas. The courtyard ensures separate functionality. All interior spaces open onto the courtyard, connecting them practically and visually. Strategically placed openings reveal olive trees visible from inside the house and courtyard, making the latter feel open and connected to the outdoors.
