Project overview
The Colina Lac development, conceived with a distinctive vision, aims to create a harmonious connection with its natural surroundings and inspire an authentic, purposeful existence. Drawing inspiration from iconic European cities, each dwelling type within the ensemble is named after a city, possessing its own unique identity and narrative. The project features 11 types of residential units, strategically situated on the terrain in a dynamic configuration that breaks away from conventional, repetitive row-house developments. This layout ensures a cohesive architectural language that fosters a sense of security and familiarity for residents. The innovative design redefines the collective living experience, with nine variations of houses interlaced and extending towards public spaces, and two typologies of apartments in three-story apartment blocks. This highlights that the residences at Colina Lac are more than mere dwellings—they encapsulate havens of comfort and harmony.Programming requirements were meticulously considered to maximize the available land, allowing for the construction of individual houses while preserving an authentic feel. The design aims to make the houses appear as if they have always been part of the landscape, rather than new or old constructions. The private space begins at the door of the house and extends into private back gardens, with each detail meticulously attended to. Spaces are designed to allow natural light and fresh air to circulate generously, with balanced proportions and authentic finishes that reflect a deep commitment to construction quality.Overall, the project represents an investment cost of approximately 15 million euros. Every aspect, from the unique design of individual homes to the shared infrastructure and green spaces, contributes significantly to cultivating an atmosphere that champions well-being and harmony. This innovative approach redefines the collective living experience. Project history
We began developing the Colina Lac concept with the client in 2017-2018. By 2019, the design was largely complete, with well-defined housing typologies and a clear plan in place. During the urban planning approval phase, the Quadratum team, led by Architect Patricia, prepared for subsequent design stages, including obtaining permits, and completing documents for the construction permit and technical details. The client, who is also a builder, brought a thoughtful perspective to the project. Their goal was to convey a sense of safety and honesty through design, insisting on using genuine materials like real wood and brick instead of imitations. This principle guided us throughout the project. The first phase, covering 3 hectares, includes 112 meticulously designed residences and an outdoor community space. This phase began in over 7 years before – with conceptualization and planning, driven by the client’s ambition to create a harmonious living environment. Construction started in early 2020, and by mid-2022, the first homes were completed and occupied, the whole developement being finished mid 2023. Colina Lac represents the initial phase of a larger vision. Ultimately, the development will include a park along the lake, educational and sports facilities, and HoReCa spaces like a neighborhood club house and a hotel. This holistic approach aims to establish a fully integrated and balanced community space.
