Project overview

Zambaku Residence is a conceptual residential project inspired by the endemic flower Lilium albanicum, translating its delicate geometry and natural symbolism into built form. The design aims to create an autochthonous architectural expression rooted in local identity and landscape. The program includes private living spaces, communal areas, and landscaped courtyards promoting interaction with nature. Cost considerations align with sustainable construction using local materials and efficient det

Project history
The Zambaku Residence project emerged from an ongoing exploration of identity-driven architecture rooted in local flora and cultural memory. The initial idea began as a conceptual study of Lilium albanicum, an endemic flower symbolizing purity, resilience, and regional identity. From this research, the concept evolved into a residential typology that translates botanical structure into spatial organization and architectural form. Early design discussions focused on balancing functional living requirements with a symbolic architectural language. As the design progressed, the program was refined to include private living quarters, shared family spaces, and landscaped outdoor areas that extend the interior experience into the surrounding environment. A key design development milestone was the transformation of the flower’s layered petals into spatial zoning, where each “layer” represents a different level of privacy and interaction.
