Project overview

Prof.Loegler’s vision of architectural form as a play between geometry and space contributed to the creation of this multitheatre.The Polish Theatre building is emphasised by the green square, the old trees, the driveway and by the harmonious shape and symmetry. The line of the scarp edge is highlighted and the compositional axis of the old PT building is extended in the new building by a single flight of stairs with landings connecting all the underground storeys where theatre halls are hidden.

Project history

Competition entry: 2010 / Design: 201 / Implementation: 2022-2023 / The public investment was financed from the state budget, with support from EU funds. The design office had no direct influence on the implementation time. Investment financing sources: EU funds: A total of approximately PLN 81.6 million in EU grants (including approximately PLN 43.3 million for the expansion and an additional PLN 38.3 million for the modernization of the historic building). Local government budget: The remaining amount (over PLN 114 million) came from the budget of the West Pomeranian Voivodeship. Total cost: The entire project cost approximately PLN 170–200 million.
