Project overview

RON Museum transforms functional needs and site constraints into an architectural journey inspired by automotive movement and evolution. Two volumes accommodate galleries, archives, restoration areas, visitor amenities and offices, connected by a transparent atrium and elliptical ramps. Its perforated double skin façade filters daylight, reduces solar gain and creates a sculptural identity. With an estimated cost of €8 million, the design balances spatial quality, efficiency and durability.

Project history
The project began with the client’s vision of transforming a vintage automobile collection into a public cultural destination. During the concept phase, functional needs and site constraints shaped two complementary volumes: the museum galleries and the administrative wing, connected by a transparent atrium. In design development, elliptical ramps became the central idea, creating a continuous exhibition journey inspired by movement, fluidity and automotive evolution. The open ground floor strengthened the museum’s connection with the community, while landscaped roof terraces introduced panoramic platforms and outdoor amphitheatres. The perforated double-skin façade was later refined to control daylight and solar gain while expressing innovation and precision. For the client, RON Museum turns a private passion into a lasting cultural legacy; for the community, it creates an accessible destination for education, social interaction and appreciation of automotive heritage.
