Project overview

KA11 is a residential building in Sofia, Bulgaria. Located at a complex five-way intersection, it integrates into its vibrant surroundings, creating a dialogue between contemporary architecture and the area’s historic fabric. The titanium-zinc façade, inspired by a nearby church, serves as a bold anchor, blending with its context while standing out. Inside, eight bespoke apartments defy convention, offering personalized living spaces tailored to the unique needs of each resident.

Project history

KA11 began with a client’s ambition to create a compact yet meaningful residential project in the heart of Sofia. Situated at a five-way intersection within a cultural heritage zone and surrounded by contrasting buildings, the site called for a thoughtful, context-driven approach. The architects were tasked with designing a structure that could unify these differences while standing out on its own. The titanium-zinc façade, inspired by a nearby church, became a defining feature, bridging tradition and innovation. Inside, eight bespoke apartments reflect the idea to move beyond standard layouts and offer personalized, high-end urban homes. Since completion, KA11 has received praise for its refined presence. For the client, it achieved both aesthetic and functional goals. For the community, it set a strong example of how small-scale architecture can enrich the urban landscape.
