The design is driven by a series of core values: humor, freedom, creativity, joy, and youthful energy — while maintaining a balance between international accessibility and a strong local identity. Throughout the project, references to Budapest’s culture are reinterpreted in playful and contemporary ways, from communal tables inspired by the city’s iconic bridges to graphic interventions derived from the Rubik’s Cube, one of Hungary’s most recognizable inventions. Everyday scenes of Budapest life appear throughout the interiors as ironic and immersive artistic moments. Developed across six levels and accommodating 382 beds, the hostel is conceived as a dynamic social ecosystem rather than a conventional hospitality environment. Every corner of the space unfolds with a sense of surprise and joy, while the overall composition follows a theatrical narrative, revealing itself through a carefully choreographed sequence of experiences.
