Project overview

Using the grid and the triangle as design tools, this new, cubist composition of 45 private hotel rooms lies as a veil over the natural terrain. The triangle comprises a channel of communication between the inclination and the unobstructed view, while the grid is a tool for transcribing the natural landscape into a residential complex.

Project history
The client envisioned a five-star resort that would express the identity of Lemnos rather than reproduce a generic luxury destination. From the earliest discussions, the priority was to create a development fully integrated into the steep hillside, preserving uninterrupted sea views while respecting the island’s scale and architectural heritage. Our response was inspired by the spatial logic of traditional settlements, reinterpreted through a contemporary cubic composition that follows the natural terrain. Throughout the design process, special emphasis was placed on privacy, landscape integration, and the creation of meaningful public spaces centered around the reception and restaurant, conceived as the village square. The project establishes a strong dialogue with the local landscape and culture, offering visitors an authentic experience while reinforcing the area’s tourism identity through architecture rooted in place rather than imposed upon it.
