The project was initiated by the owners of the Daniel Castle estate with the objective of restoring the historical integrity of the site and improving public access to its cultural landscape. Historical maps and archival research confirmed the existence of a former bridge linking the castle park with the monumental tree-lined avenue across the Vârghiș stream. Based on these findings, the design sought to reconstruct this lost spatial relationship through a contemporary yet discreet intervention. The laminated timber and steel footbridge was carefully integrated into the historic setting, respecting both the natural environment and the protected monument. Completed as part of the estate’s ongoing revitalization, the project reconnects previously fragmented areas, enhances the visitor experience, and reinforces the cultural and historical identity of the Daniel Castle estate for both the local community and its visitors.
