Project overview

Birdsnest House turns a forgotten attic into an inhabited observatory above Tbilisi. The white interior acts as a neutral field, while a timber-clad dining room frames the city and mountain as two living images. Rather than filling the space with objects, the project uses light, orientation and a single warm architectural volume to transform everyday domestic life into an experience of watching the landscape.

Project history

The project began with the reuse of an old attic and the ambition to make its elevated position the essence of the home. The design removed visual noise, opened views in two directions and placed the dining space between city and mountain. For the residents, the house offers both retreat and connection; for Tbilisi, it demonstrates how neglected roof spaces can become precise contemporary homes without erasing their character.
