Developed for the Bank of Georgia Headquarters Extension Competition, the project was awarded First Place in autumn 2022. The brief called for expanding the existing headquarters while preserving the presence and identity of the iconic Soviet-era building within Tbilisi’s urban context. The client sought a future-oriented workplace that would support institutional growth while maintaining a strong connection to the original headquarters. Our proposal introduced a phased extension linking the existing and new buildings through a continuous pedestrian network, allowing transformation without disrupting daily operations. A carefully maintained buffer zone reduces visual impact, while the new volume gradually develops toward Gagarin Street through a cascade of green terraces. Oriented toward atriums, recreational spaces, and city views, the design creates a connected workplace that strengthens the relationship between the headquarters, employees, and the city.
